Sheet music management for bands and dance music

A dance band easily plays sixty numbers in one evening – polkas, waltzes, schlager, party hits – and the order is often decided on stage, depending on how the dance floor reacts. On top of that come stand-ins who step in at short notice, and musicians who also play in the brass band or a second group. Notenarchiv is built for exactly this everyday life.

Change the set list live

In Stage Mode you put the evening together beforehand: search for pieces, sort them with the drag handle, add placeholders for “break” or “announcement”. On stage the bandleader opens the session, everyone else joins with a tap.

If a request comes in, or the dance floor is loving the waltzes tonight, the bandleader changes the order during the gig – and everyone’s own part jumps straight to the next piece. Nobody leafs frantically through the book, nobody shouts “Which number?”.

The change of piece arrives over Bluetooth, so it works in a marquee without Wi-Fi or a network too.

Durations and count-in

Every piece carries a duration, and the set adds them up to a total duration. So you know in advance whether the first block really fills 45 minutes. Store tempo and time signature, and the app’s metronome counts everyone in together.

Made for the stage

  • Night mode – light notes on a dark background so nothing dazzles when the house lights go down.
  • Page-turn pedal – AirTurn, PageFlip and the like work without setup, your hands stay on the instrument.
  • Jump links – D.C., D.S. and coda with a tap or the pedal.
  • Stage display – anyone without a tablet reads the programme on a TV, with the current piece highlighted.

Equip a stand-in in two minutes

The trumpeter is ill and the stand-in is coming tonight? A share link gives them the music for the pieces in question – valid for 14 days, no account, no app. They open the link in the browser, download the parts as a ZIP and are ready.

Plan gigs and rehearsals

Wedding on Saturday, marquee festival on Sunday, rehearsal on Wednesday: in event management everyone replies yes or no with a tap, and the programme with its sheet music is attached to the event. The parts are then on every device in good time. With the homepage widget your public gigs appear on your website – “Where are you playing next?” answers itself. More under event management.

Several bands, one account

If you play in the dance band and in the brass band, you don’t need a second account. With multi-organisation you switch between both after logging in – each band has its own music, events and members.

Marching with an e-ink tablet

Does your band march in parades too? The app runs on Android e-ink tablets: easy to read in the sun, with battery for the whole festival day and a march mode that locks the page against your thumb. The conductor switches to the next march over Bluetooth. How it works is explained in the guide Marching with an e-ink tablet.

What it costs

Billing is per band, not per head – from €12.90 a month. Only active users of the last 90 days count, and stand-ins with a share link cost nothing. Stage Mode is part of the Premium plan. All details on the pricing page.
