Report illegal content
The German version of this page is legally binding. This translation is provided for convenience only.
Notenarchiv stores sheet music, texts and share links uploaded by clubs and their members. If you consider any of this content illegal – for example because it infringes your copyright or shows personal data without a legal basis – you can report it here. You do not need a Notenarchiv account to do so.
How to report content
The fastest way is the notice form: app.notenarchiv.com/melden. Every page opened through a share link also has a Report content link that takes you straight there, with the location already filled in.
Alternatively, send an email to [email protected].
What we need from you
Under Art. 16(2) DSA, a notice needs:
- An explanation of why you consider the content illegal – for copyright infringements, for example, which work is affected and which rights you hold in it.
- The exact location, ideally the share link or the address of the page. If you only know the title and the club, give both.
- Your name and email address. The only exception is notices about offences under Articles 3 to 7 of Directive 2011/93/EU.
- A statement confirming that the information you provide is accurate and complete to the best of your knowledge and belief.
What happens next
- Confirmation of receipt: you immediately receive a confirmation by email.
- Review: we review the notice in a timely, diligent and non-arbitrary manner. Sheet music is kept in closed club areas; we only look at it when a notice gives us reason to.
- Decision: if the content is illegal, we block it – first without deleting it, so the club can object – or remove it. Affected share links are deactivated. We inform you of our decision by email, including the options available to challenge it.
- Statement of reasons to the club: if we block or remove content, the club concerned is told under Art. 17 DSA what is affected, why, on what basis and how it can challenge the decision.
We do not use automated decision-making: every notice is reviewed by a person.
If you disagree with a decision
As the person who submitted the notice or as the club concerned, you can object to a decision at any time by emailing [email protected]; we will then review it again. You can always take the matter to court.
We do not process manifestly unfounded or abusive notices any further. If someone repeatedly submits such notices, we may suspend the processing of their notices for a reasonable period after a prior warning.
Points of contact under the Digital Services Act
The single point of contact for authorities (Art. 11 DSA) and for users (Art. 12 DSA) is [email protected]. We communicate in German and English. The full provider details are in the legal notice.
Privacy information about your notice
The controller is Yannick Stein (contact details in the legal notice). We process the information in your notice – name, email address, location, explanation and our correspondence – to handle the notice, inform you of the outcome and be able to show how we dealt with it. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR in conjunction with Articles 16 and 17 DSA.
We do not disclose your name to the club concerned unless this is necessary for the review (for example in copyright notices, if the club wants to prove it holds a licence) – in that case we ask you first. We delete the notice and its processing log three years after the procedure is closed, unless they are needed for ongoing proceedings. Your further rights are set out in the privacy policy.
